Look, I don't VOTE for women with another career path. I swear, I think I've fallen down a rabbit hole here. I don't think ANY women should be working- if they have small children. I've already said that before. I wouldn't make laws about it, but I don't approve (unless the women are forced to work).

Whether it is McCain or Obama, I'm ok they didn't stay home with the kids, but I'd be annoyed if their wives didn't/. Does that mean I'm a one issue voter and that's all that matters to me? Well since neither party is the "mommy at home" party, the question is moot.

I have always felt this way. It's not like I suddenly came out for mommies this year. I've been talking about it for a long time. I don't care that not a lot of other people feel mothers should stay home, or that people disparage the position, or that people pretend to care about motherhood, but they don't think much of women who stay home. I still feel it's the correct thing to do.

>>Also Michelle IS running---running along with her husband much of the time--out there campaigning and going home on weekends. By the end of the campaign, Michelle will have been away from her children much more than will Sarah Palin. Palin will be campaigning for only two months. Michelle's been campaigning for nearly a year.<<

Kate -

First, Michelle may be campaigning, but she's not running for office.

Second, I don't believe her schedule of appearances has been anywhere near as full as her husband's has.

Third, do you actually know whether Michelle has been away from her children most of the past year? Do you know whether they were traveling with her or not?

I think you're just making suppositions. Isn't there every possibility that Michelle Obama has spent a whole lot of time with her children over the past year?
