I'm listening to NPR now. As with last week, they have one Dem and one Rep speechwriter reviewing the speech. This pair gave Obama a B+ last week. They gave McCain an A.

I was brought to tears 4 times during this convention...........that is remarkable since I don't cry easily.

McCain's speech made Obama's sound like a bunch of blah blah. I don't say that as a professional speech critic or a partisan. It was just more precise and specific.

Obama's speech contained a lot of empty promises, and that elicits suspicion and doubt imo.

I'd hoped McCain wouldn't revisit the VN thing, but he really pulled it off, and he had my complete attention, and in the end, admiration.
