THis is, without a doubt, the most interesting race of my lifetime. I've never followed one this closely and certainly not during the primary process.

McCain did what I thought he would by divorcing himself from the failures of the previous administration. This was his best chance to win. People don't necessarily want to turn away from the party itself, just from the failures and shortcomings. McCain can now position himself as a 'change' candidate, too. Palin fits right into this as she can be pitched as a Republican who took on her own party.

With this strategy, they both can run a somewhat positive campaign rather than just run as a rebuttal to Obama.
