It's hard to concede that, however, when you have different view of the world and see a reality that seems so crystal clear. I think that people who tend to see complex issues very clearly often assume that others see them just as clearly and therefor question the motives of those who end up on the "wrong side." I assumed that too often when I was younger. I've learned, however, that more often those who disagree with me are simply looking at the same information but where I see a dog they see a cat. I think that you, and I, and most of us on this thread have a more accurate view of the real world than those who are on the other side of this election. Those people have been wrong about the use of our power and about things like trickle down economics but some of them have continued to cling to their long ingrained beliefs in the face of the slaps in the face that reality has been giving them. But I fault many of them for being dense, not devious and I fault them for being stubborn, not for being uncaring. I know that there are the Limbaughs of the world who are well aware that they're mouthing falsity and who make a lot of money feeding the monkeys in the zoo, but I think that most of them, like McCain, simply don't see it. As Obama recently said, "He just doesn't get it." I give McCain that. In effect it's a worse indictment of a man who would be President of the US than to say that he knows better and is lying. After all, a man who knows better can get it right, someone who just doesn't see it is lost. Ed
