When I read a resume and find gaps in time between education or work experience, I always ask the candidate what he/she did during that time and why. This has not been done with Obama.

If I remember correctly, Obama worked as a community organizer before he went to law school. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't take the community organizing stint at face value. Obama grew up (& remains imo) a committed leftist who wanted to work for social justice, and became interested in a political career early on. Community organizing is the first step of the ladder for a leftist political career.

If we ask the left not to sneer at what we believe in, we should return the favor.

I actually believe that Obama does believe in social justice. I'm not sure that he believes in God as he claims to; I get the sense it was the social justice side of TUCC that attracted him, of which its political connnections were part and parcel. There is no need to believe him a cynic. I see in Obama a man earnestly trying to belong somewhere and believe something. I don't want that 'somewhere' to be the Oval Office but I see no need to despise him.

LOL! That's what I've been driving at....Why did a so called professor from Harvard take a Community Organizer position?

Couldn't he get any other job?

Maybe Bill Ayers recruited him at a Harvard Law job fair?
