As a rule, they never will - except for those rare exceptions.

Why? Because politicians are not individuals who represent their constituents. They are red and blue, with us or against us, our side or the other side.

The danger with McCain winning is that their will be no change. The danger with Obama is that the change will simply be a swap - blue for red.

I'm betting that Obama is the better choice - his resistance to the forces that attempt to pull him back into the D pole demonstrate that he is his own man, and that his message of change has hope of becoming reality.
