"Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" was terrific last night. First, former model Kathy Ireland was on and proved much smarter than I expected. True, the questions were not difficult, but they would have stumped such dummies as Billy Bush, Dumbya's smarter cousin, or, poor, sad, but damned good looking Kelly Pickerel. Kudos Kathy on winning $175,000 for charity.

But the big story was that the next contestant, the state school superintendent of Georgia, of all places, was the first to win $1,000,000. Without any help from the kids. She did peek at one answer, but knew right away that the ten year old had it wrong. She is giving it all to 3 schools, two for the deaf, one for the blind.

The new class doesn't seem to have as much personality as the last one. Maybe Jeff Foxworthy thought they were showing him up. Or, maybe it was first show jitters.

One good thing is that the token black kid is a girl this time and the contestants choose her for partnership. Poor Cody, a black boy, was usually the last chosen, if he ever got chosen at all, last season. I think it's the fact that the Republican contestants are less scared of 10 year old black girls than they are of 10 year old black boys.
