"GOP Mocks Public Service"

Uh, oh. Big whoops. It's that lack of paying attention to details thing again.

Public service
McCain believes that more Americans should get involved in public service. "If you find fault with our country, make it a better one...When healthy skepticism sours into corrosive cynicism, our expectations of our government become reduced to the delivery of services. For too many Americans, the idea of good citizenship does not extend beyond walking into a voting booth every two or four years and pulling a lever — and too few Americans demand of themselves even that first obligation of self-government." I believe our founding fathers were involved in a bit of comunnity organizing-lol.

It just shows how nuts, mean and clueless these right wingers like pataki are. Every politican engages in community organizing. That is exactly what Ron Paul and Obama are doing in getting the young and others involved in politics. And MCcain would like to do it if anyone cared about him.

The RW cannot even understand the basic tenets of our democracy e.g. freedom from invasion of privacy by our government, freedom to have a lawyer and freedom to organize and protest injustice.

If you followed the logic put forth by those RW clowns we would just dispense with democracy an go straight to a facist form of government.

Which just happens to be exactly what they have been trying to effect-lol.

They make me want to set my hair on fire-lol. that is a line from Mike Barnacle-lol.

Repubs really are vermin. I hope Obama puts out an ad on this. Every community organizer all over this country should be outraged. Like it's somehow bad to help people who have lost their jobs or their homes.

As a supporter (former) of Giulliani and a Registered Republican, it was by far one of the most ludicrous, despicable conventions I have ever seen. I hope I never see the day that Bloomberg laughs at his opponents' "cosmopolitan" attitudes and Ivy League degrees.

The denigration of Obama's work as a civil rights lawyer and community organizer only showed the level of IQ the party has to cater to these days.

The touting of a woman with mayoral experience of a town smaller than many condo buildings in New York was another. Does the fact that I was President of my Cooperative mean I automatically qualify as VP of the U.S.? It's about the issues and solutions to some very complex problems and I heard no answers.

Is Obama short on some experience. Absolutely! But at least he is intelligent, thoughtful, presentable and well versed in all the ISSUES. He also studies all sides of the issue. Like his background, the world isn't black or white...

The Presidential Election isn't a High School popularity contest.
