There have been numerous studies of win-win ways of dividing up the results of any negotiation (or election). The key, which winner take all does not take into account, is that different people have different priorities when they go into the voting booth. You can satisfy some people with a consession that makes no difference to others while they in turn feel they win on some other aspect. There are ways to maximize the number of people who are satisfied with the outcome instead of polarizing the populace. TP
