Christianity has three large branches; catholicism, eastern orthodox and protestantism. There are many protestant sects and there are differnt national versions of orthodoxy as i undertand it---greek, russian, etc. By the way did you see in todays times how the orthodox church of russia and georgia are quite upset that there was an intersorthodox war. Add to that the fact that ossetians are of the same faith as well.
