Jim brings up an interesting strategy that the McCain-Palin campaign should try if they aren't already.

You can't be this naive. From where do you think the attorney who suddenly started representing Palin last week came?

>I'm pretty sure the Democrats are going to pull all the strings they can, however, in order to influence the ethics probe their way. With the tacit approval of the mainstream media, of course.

That's BS. The McCain campaign has sent its people up there to interfere. It's documented at this point.

Maybe you haven't been following this story, but it's been going on for months now. That's why the selection surprised me -- the first thing I thought was, "Wait, isn't she under investigation?"

It might be a partisan thing, I don't know, but the partisans that started the investigation were Republicans. They didn't know that Palin would be the VP nominee when they started, and now they're trying to pull the plug.

Whether or not she did what she's accused of is certainly to be debated, but what I said above is not.

Let the child-tasing trooper be tried in the court of public opinion. He will most definitely lose there.

When I heard that story on AC360 I recalled a funny incident. My (now-deceased) older brother and I went into a country hardware store one day -- he must have been about 18 and I would have been 8-9. Anyway, this store had a rack of live cattle prods -- one of which he promptly picked up and zapped me in the belly with it.

Knocked me on my ass. But it was funny. I guess it is about like getting tazed but it only lasted a fraction of a second. You knew you had been zapped though...

It sounded like this guy was showing the kid what it was like to get tazed. Of course, when that happened to me it was just for laughs, but I have a feeling in this day and age that the trooper might get crucified for it..
