They own the media. They own higher education. they've turned patriotism into nationalism and made it a dirty word. When we die off, the vision of America as vibrant free nation with individuals who can stand on their own two feet is gone. All our effort should be going into cultivating a new generation of standard bearers. Palin is the first glimpse of that. Every Republican over 50m except for a very few, should be sidelined. A new generation has to be brought in. It must be incorruptible. That article on the middle-class getting killed financially also rang true. The Bushies hurt us terribly. The party must be retooled to help and appeal to the middle-class. The elite is deaf to us. The blue collar American is what Palin appeals to. That is our base. It must be protected. McCain had better work on his economic proposals and aim them at that group.
