Obama is on "This Week" with George S. right now; far from a messianic halo approach, he has a crisp, pragmatic answer to every question thrown at him, the way that someone well-rounded in the issues should.

The idea that Palin can't be subjected to a similar interview for weeks, when the election is two months away, is somewhere between bizarre and nonsensical.

EDIT: Change of subject. I have started following the news now. It's close enough that I guess I must. I heard Obama asked a question about Fannie and Fred and his response was to dance a bit, then duck, then go back to the standard applause lines about giving tax breaks to countries that keep jobs at home and--I forgot the other irrelevant point. So what does he think about the takeover? The commentator presented the clip with pride as though her question had actually been answered.
