I don't think we called Palin a traitor, or accused her of being foreign born, or cast slurs on her parentage. And FWIW my reaction to her mothering is not really political- it is a general anger I have at ALL the mothers who work, and don't have to. Palin is just a very egregious example:

My problems with Palin political are her far right social stances, and her inexperience- which amazes me. I really can't get excited about her mayoral experience (and especially not when you look at the finances of that poor little town after she got done with it) and her governor experience has hardly even happened. I thought the stuff about the baby not being hers was over the top- but I said something about that. ONLY that, imo, rose to the level of the folks who suggest Obama is "really" a Muslim, or that he isn't American, or that his parents weren't married (which is kind of an odd thing to complain about for people in love with Palin and Bristol- but logic always comes late to a party, if it arrives at all.)

But, speaking as someone who has been inactive lately as the thread has become consumed with the horse race, in which I do not yet have a pick, the thread has become much more like that dreaded "other" thread than those actively engaged could likely recognize. FWIW.

Since I don't read that "other thread", how many active posters do they have there advocating the party/candidate/philosophy that is clearly in the minority?

Individual passion and bias doesn't crowd out room for other views here, IMHO. That is the goal, at least. (EDIT - I skimmed the last 100 posts on PfP and saw absolutely nothing but one side.)

The bottom line with Palin is whether one would want her to be president on February 1 after McCain is inaugurated and suffers a sudden debilitating stroke. If someone can't answer that with 100% confidence, then there is a gaping question mark on that side of the ballot.
