13 day is a must see movie and yes very scary:

Even on a sophisticated thread like this one I do not think the true reality of what has been going on for the last 30 years by the neo cons is fully appreciated. The neo cons using the southern states as THEIR block vote to win with.

Just as there is a thin line between sanity and insanity, so there is a thin line between conspiratorial hyperbole and a scary reality.

Bush and company were not just aimlessly screwing everything up. They were following a philosophy of a bunch of crazy people not unlike the crazy right wing ideas of the cold war which caused us to go to war with, and destroy, Viet Nam. A totally senseless war.

And the thesis of what the neo cons have been doing for the last 30 years is substituting public programs with the private sector.

More insidious is that the philosophy of pure capitalism undermines and actually is intedned to replace democracy. And in fact we have been seeing an Animal Farm transition taking place. Only an old pig like me remembers-lol.

The best place to see this is how the neo cons have systematically destroyed the unions during the last 30 years. The neo cons have had several major goals:

1) get rid of unions

2) get rid of public schools and replace them with vouchers

3) get rid of public programs and replace them with the private sector: note: the first Katrina was done with the private sector, the recent NO's scare was conducted with the public sector---which worked best???

4) get rid of the New Deal

5) replace keynesian economics with Friedman's and Ayn Rands supply side economics (this helps the rich and hurts the poor and history has shown it is not a viable economic system)
