It's probably not too soon to start the football pool on what subject, designed to hurt John McCain, will suddenly grab the attention of the New York Times in the week before the election. What was it in 2004? Al Qaaqaa? the lost yellowcake of Al Qaaqaa, Iraq? Never heard of before or since, but worthy of five days of front-page attention in the last week of October 2004. I bet it will be on the breakup of McCain's first marriage and his hooking up with Cindy McCain. Any takers?
