>>she says that she thinks "both sides" of the Creation/Evolution debate should be taught.

Actually, she didn't exactly say that. She said that she thought it appropriate for the options to be discussed. That could mean a lot of things. I don't think we know exactly what her position is on.<<

Karen -

She did say exactly that, and then toned it down in a subsequent interview.

But the specifics of her position on that issue aren't really my biggest concern with Palin, and I think we've covered that topic fully already.

So allow me to change the subject.

I don't like the fact that she is joining in with the McCain's campaign strategy of mischaracterizing her own record, and telling out and out lies about Obama's record and his policy positions.

They claim she lowered taxes, when in fact she raised the sales tax in Wasilla when she was mayor. They claim she's against earmarks, when in fact as mayor she hired a consultant to bring in millions in earmarks for Wassilla. There's the bridge thing, too, which has been discussed enough.

On top of being deceitful about Palin's record with respect to earmarks, they have now claimed that Obama has requested a billion dollars in earmarks for his home state, when in fact the total is nowhere near that, and he has asked for zero earmarks in the past year. That's one of the promises he has made and kept. He said he would swear off earmarks, and he did.

Palin, both as Mayor and governor, has asked for ten times more money per citizen for the State of Alaska than Obama has for Illinois. This is according to the Associated Press.
