"She can't handle the national media but she's qualified to run for VP..."

I find this amazing. They trot her out to read a speech and then bundle her off.

And she is supposed to be a serious candidate?

She can't handle the national media but she's qualified to run for VP

The national media has been far, far tougher on Palin than they have, for example, on Obama. By an order of magnitude. She was notified of her new role less than a week before she had to give the speech (one which, by the way, totally turned the election on its head). So, yes, she should take a little time to acclimate to the situation.

The national media has lied, attacked, bashed, and trashed her for more than a week solid. They should withhold interviews with them until they begin to act in a civilized, reasonable, and fair manner.

She has, however, started taking media interviews effective next week, which is totally adequate.

There is no substance there...

It is totally evident there is far more substance than there is with Obama.

Al,

She can't handle the national media but she's qualified to run for VP...and I am nuts?

You seem to thing that a political campaign is some spontaneous thing that just happen. No. It is highly scripted. Each appearance is calculated. How many times did Obama go to serious interviews (and I don't mean softball ones) such as Meet the Press, Chris Wallace? Not very often, and sometimes when he was in trouble and needed to change subject. Just like Obama's O'Reilly appearance. Do you think that if Obama was cruising comfortably, he would have subjected himself to Bill O'Reilly?

Interviews and press conferences are not about press asking questions, but about the candidate getting his message across. I am sure McCain campaign wants to brief Palin in what they want to get across.

Look at it another way. Suppose you have a hot commodity on your hands. Would you give it away for free, or would you milk it for all you can. McCain campaign is surely going to take time and build up expectations.

When you have an unexciting commodity like Biden, you are happy when someone gives him free time...

LOL...she's theater. There is no substance there...

If don't want to go by people who like her, go by people who hate her. If she was irrelevant, no substance candidate, would they have gone so far on the limb to destroy her?

Joe

Yes, you're nuts.

You guys were surprised at her convention speech, you just may be surprised again.

Keep underestimating her.
