Thank you Ish, yes it did and I'm sure she IS going to be a spoiled young lady. She is the first granddaughter on her Mother's side. Four boys before her. They too are so tickled to receive her into their family.

I started her college fund today by giving her a "birth" day check. I know we probably won't be here when she goes off to college but will help make sure she has the funds to go. Don't really think I have to worry about that too much cause her parents are both college grads and will prod all three to get a good education. Her Dad is our oldest grandson and we did help put him through college. He is the closest grandson to us we have and always coming by or calling to check on us. He plays golf with his granddad when he can and idolizes him. He and his little family are very special to all of us in our family.

Got a card yesterday from the one that was the youngest granddaughter before Madison arrived. She turns eight this month. States "Nobody does that Grandparent thing better than you two. Am I lucky or what? Happy Grandparent's Day. Signed Love Hayley". My husband nicknamed her Comet and this new one he's already calling her Madison Avenue.... Her Mom said today she never thought about Madison Avenue when she named her, thought most would call her Madison or Maddie. He says they are his pet names for them. Glad the older kids accept and understand his humor about them.

I keep remembering what my MIL told me, "A son is a son until he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life". One can find lots of truth in that statement. Girls are more apt to be attentive to the female gender in their families, at least in ours that has been true and I love it. Was telling my oldest daughter she was my big baby and she laughed and said, "Mom I still am your big baby and I'm not giving that up even at 56 years of age. We had a good laugh about that and yes she too has been royally spoiled by me.
