Agreed. But as a business manager, I'd fire someone like Bush in a heartbeat. He didn't do the calculus before the war and he sure isn't doing the calculus now. He has no clue what those wars will gain us strategically or financially. Sunk costs are indeed best ignored when evaluating future value. However, when evaluating who your future executive will be, sunk costs and historical record are a great indicator of future results. Bush is a failure and I don't want anyone even remotely like him in office again. So that counts out McSame.
