With world wide economic softness I wouldn't be surprised if it does go down in the short run. I expect it to trend upwards in the long run, as it has been doing, but that long run trend isn't equal to the growth rate of the most recent cyclical move up.

Oil and mineral commodities are plummeting because China has been out of the market since before the Olympics. No one is sure why.......is their economy slowing down rapidly, do they have significant stockpiles and they are trying to manipulate prices.......no one knows. Until they continue to stay off the market, oil and commodities will continue to drop.
