TJ after reading what you posted, I think those reports can not be trusted in their interpretation of the true situation and should be taken with a grain of salt.

One very clear mistake is the fact that Ehud Olmert is a white collar criminal soon to indicted as are others in his government. Never before did Israel had such a sleazy assortment of borderline white collar criminals in power. It is astonishing how bad it is!!! In this regard Putin can be proud <GGGG>

As a result the Israeli PM – Olmert is running around to try to portray itself as a great leader in the hope that he will not go to jail. His promises are worth nothing, as the Israeli Police already recommended his indictment on several briberies and other felonies etc whcih are tomany to be counted!!!. Unfortunate he will not spend the rest of his life in jail where he deserves to stay.

The reason Israelis were in Georgia is simple – the Israelis have a relative big army and the retired officers need work. Many are from the former USSR who immigrated at a young age to Israel so it is only natural that they will train military units in former USSR countries, and Georgia is not the only one. Same related to armament sales.

BTW Israelis were told to pull out already in May June when the Russian started shooting down recognizance airplanes – completely unrelated to the August events which every one knew it would happen due to the continuous provocations, harassment and aggression of the Russian mercenaries.

So Mr. Friedman is mixing true facts with his own imagination and educated speculation to many times detached from reality

You will get a more accurate report from Hezbollah if you will know to filter the demagogic of Nasralla speeches

I don't know about the speculation about Georgia, but the rest of it makes a lot of sense.

Stratfor reads like retired officers of the US forces doing geo-political analysis. Therefore they can only frame issues under a military perspective

-- we vs. them
-- defend and attack

This is a myopic view of the world affairs. It is take into consideration the human, ethical and economic side of the problems affecting the region.

It does look that there are retired officers allover the place trying to be useful...

Down here in LATAM they used to takeover government to get an income :-)
