It is a dishonest answer that is transparently false.

Do you have anything to support this statement? On this site, people generally state an opinion and then back it up with evidence or a reasoned argument.

I don't think so.

Most young men think about joining up, if only to wear the uniforms. We are all programmed in this country to think the military is a noble and inspiring option- and I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just saying the marketing is thick on the ground- witness, at your local movie theater, the intense propaganda of Citizen Soldier.

So yes, I find it quite believable Young Obama thought about joining. Didn't you ever think about it? I know I thought about it- twice. Once when I was in high school, and again when I was graduating from law school- I even interviewed with JAG. My whole family has been in the military- my WHOLE family of intensely liberal people- so yeah, I believe Obama. Not sure why you can't believe that.

You don't want to believe liberals consider the military?

It occurred to me that you might not even believe me! So here:

I've said it before. So I'm not just saying it to you to prove a point.

>>Anyway John, what is your opinion on whether young Barry contemplated joining the US military after graduating from HS in 1979?

My opinion is that it is a load of cr*p. It is a dishonest answer that is transparently false. Makes one believe that he will say anything to get elected.<<

Brian -

Ah. I see that you actually took this humor piece to be an accurate piece of news reporting.

Amazing. It's labeled as satire, for heaven's sake.

Even if it hadn't been so labeled, those are clearly not actual quotes from Barack Obama. They are transparent inventions, much like the Sarah Palin quote about dinosaurs that we discussed here last week. Nobody here was taken in by that fabrication.

Damn, this must be embarrassing for you.
