It's between middle-America and the Weather Underground. Palin isn't trailer trash, but that's how the press treated her. She's middle-America, struggling to hold her family together and get ahead.

The left press can't tell the difference, not knowing either from personal experience. I wonder if any of them have ever been in a Walmart's.

The far left took over the Demo party and they shoved the Clinton's under the bus. They elected an ideological candidate, straight out of identity politics.

Obama is a far left candidate with political talent. He's still far left. Depends on which one you're most scared of, Obama or Palin, given what we know right now.

Ayers and Dorhen scare even Marty Peretz, yet the moderate left, which he represents, couldn't contain their scorn for Palin. Suicidal on their part. Knee-jerk cultural snobbery. They can't complain, after they let Soros and his money hijack the party.

If McCain wins, we'd better hope he doesn't have a heart attack for a year or so, or whatever it take Palin to get up to speed in FA.

So far, she doesn't strike me as ideological. I don't know enough about her religious views yet, but her history says she doesn't push them. She's pro-life, but doesn't interfere with Roe. That's Regan; benign neglect.

Obama is a cat's paw; he's a phony, hiding who he really is, if he knows. Palin is the real deal, even if she's an accidental vice-presidential candidate.

The Republican Party has to crawl out of the ditch after Bush. She's gonna help them; she can't hurt them; Liberman and Ridge would have been terminally boring and cost McCain the base.

He seems too dumb or stubborn to know that. Romney might have gotten him the base, sort of, if they could have swallowed his Mormonism, but he personally sucks energy out of a room.

He can't even deliver a red meat speech convincingly to the base.

McCain didn't have any place to go. Palin was a stupid lucky choice on his part, if she holds up over the next month or so.

Figure it this way. McCain can't do much damage on the domestic front, cause there's no money to do it with. OTOH, who do you want dealing with Putin?

That's how I'm thinking about it as I watch this. At least I'm interested for a change.

CNN played a Holy Roller segment on Sarah Palin today,

Remember Attorney General John Ashcroft? Damn good man, but a Holy Roller. They took two by fours to him. He asked for it by having some nude statues covered up.

My biggest fear is the editing room. I think they would be much better off to let her take her lumps live. They can't play games there. When Gibson's editors take two days of film and edit it down, they can make her out an idiot if they want.

Her only protection is, that after last's weeks treatment, the public is on to what they are up to.

Sarah is very, very quick. And went up against some real scoundrels in Alaska. I hope it will turn out that the stronger they attack her, the better she responds.
