Of course it's newsworthy when they announce it. You pop an unknown new celebrity onto the world stage and everything is newsworthy.

BTW did you see where they 'speak in tongues' at her old church? Wonder if she ever did that stuff.

The way it was handled guaranteed a media circus. The press release was done right after it was announced she was McCain's VP pick.
