Why is the child-rearing question not a legitimate question to ask?

Because its not a legitimate inquiry....many families in this country have parents who both work outside the home in jobs that are not 9-5.

If legitimate, why wasn't it asked of Obama?

However, considering modern law and the expanding role of women in non-traditional roles such as government and the military, traditional limitations and disqualifications are rapidly disappearing.
