Obama's kids will be 8 and 11 in January.

Palin will have an infant under a year old. Plus the others.

Yeah, I'm sexist. Funny comment from a "conservative."

Yes, I'm saying being President is a job that effectively takes one's ability to parent away. My question is whether a mother can effectively do that with an infant. Fathers have done so for millenium. Mothers only recently, and most of those who do, do not work all-consuming jobs.

Have you been a mother?

On the Clearwater River in Idaho, there was a mansion with no road to it, but a rail line went by. You could see it driving down from Kamiah to Oro Fino. Reputedly, it was built for Cleveland's mistress, to keep her out of his hair, so to speak. I went by it last summer but did not see the mansion. I don't know whether it was destroyed or if my memory about where it was was just bad.

Grover Cleveland had an illegitimate child.
