I think Obama had North Carolina as one of the states he was going to target. RealClear Politics has it as a toss-up. Here is the latest:

They didn't know because they chose not to investigate, which BTW, is a job of a reporter: to investigate, to make phone calls.

Not to investigate a liberal is a deliberate deliberate choice of the liberal press.
