I wasn't thinking of social issues in terms of 'a problem' but rather simply as a matter of fact. We socialize kids through the education process to a very great degree. Core knowledge schools try to reduce the influence of social issues through instruction but they merely minimize it.

The degree to which any social issue is political is the degree to which it is supported by some and opposed by others or the degree to which some would like to see it added, reformed, eliminated from the curriculum and others would not.

There are none which are non-political unless you are only thinking of the term political as an issue that could help a major candidate in a presidential election.
