He was discussing all of McCain's policies, which appear to be the same as Bush's. How is that slamming Palin? "Lipstick on a pig" is a well-known expression Barry is the smartest man on the planet (next to Al Gore) so he may not have been directly referencing Palin - but it does show a huge lack of sensitivity and judgement. It would be equivalent to someone referencing Barry as "Boy". Everyone knows it was a swipe at Palin's lipstick joke - in comedy and politics - timing matters.
