I am not sure if it is a gaffe. When I watched, it felt like a calculated gamble. Doesn't mean that calculated gambles won't backfire.

Whether it was calculated or not, I think Obama should use this opportunity and bring McCain's other insulting comments about women (the rape joke, his own lipstick comment and his joke on Chelsea Clinton) into focus.
