diminish the service and suffering of a man like McCain. This is what I meant when I wrote about taboos. If you read my posts I did not diminish either McCain's service nor his suffering. What I did diminish is the way he capitalized on those actions over which he had no control. It is the emotional shock of confonting a taboo that makes you think I actually wrote something else. The Republicans use such emotions to manipulate people. The real issue here is whether McCain's real biography makes him the choice to set the nation's strategy, or just a bitter old man who thinks everyone still owes him big time. TP
