I simply asked the question, "Why would they think that?"

When looking at the make up of that poll, it was found that by far republicans or conservatives were responsible for believing this saddam tale. One can speculate...here are some possible reasons:

1) The administration spent a lot of time talking about a connection between AQ and Saddam. Particularly after it was reported that there were no WMDs in iraq.

2) Fox news propaganda ...

3) Republican voters are just plain stupid .... like you.

4) All of the above...
