Jim, good read from Don Coxe on the commodity sell off - makes sense to me , in fact, I was thinking the same when the Fannie, Freddie plan was announced. Message 24932190

Should I have sold my RGLD today...?

Miners go up, gold down, GLD finishing on its low, looks to be going toward $700. Miners won't hold up if that happens, especially if the general markets weaken, AGAIN, which given their sell off into the close, looks likely. Maybe if Lehman gets taken over and that worry is off the table there will be a further bounce, but I bet there still much selling to be done on rallies. The repercussions of the Freddie and Fannie preferred stock falling as hard as they have is likely pervasive...AND the dollar makes a new recovery high; somebodies are buying the heck out of it and I doubt its just speculators...I suspect the COTs for the $USD are going to unimaginable extremes before this is all over.

I need a bailout....or maybe I'll just bailout...
