But you don't need to apologise to the ignorant, they actually ought to be apologising to the rest of us for having the temerity to vote.

One hopes there are not enough ignorant folks to win an election, but I guess we'll see.

It seems to me that the thing to do is to give them a chance to get up to speed. Apologizing and trying to cater to such people by not using certain terms is ultimately a foolish exercise in dumbing down the overall population.
