Makes no sense... does winning with 10K dead beat losing w/ 1K dead? Guess it depends on whether your dead or not and what the hell WINNING means. In fact, we won't know if anything was won or not for decades regardless of when we get the hell out of there because one (presumably) want to know if Iraq becomes a viable democracy or further if there is more one expects from them.

I wish someone would talk about what 'winning' means first of all, and second admit that setting up "friendly" governments around the world isn't something we due as a matter of policy.

One can't honestly talk about "winning" unless one defines what that means in this context, specifically.

"Winning" can end up being very subjective and subject to very different definitions by different people.

There is no winning. Only management.
