I think the Dems could make hay out of the fact that there is apparent stone-walling in a case where she claims that there was nothing amiss.

If there is nothing there, let it hang out.

Stone-walling and ordering her aides not to testify simply gives the wrong impression. She should have taken her ethics advisor's counsel a long time ago. Now the matter is hanging like an albatross around her neck. She was in a tough spot and screwed up.

This public adoration of Palin as if she is the Second Coming has me stumped. She has foibles and skeletons like all of us. For example, she claims to be tough on state expenses, but charges Alaska when staying at her own home.

At some point, the GOP's ga-ga moment with Palin will fade as it becomes obvious that she has limitations, baggage, etc.

Someone as inexperienced and unschooled as she is bound to make some serious gaffes on the campaign trail. In order to prevent this, it seems obvious that the GOP is force-feeding an education down her throat. Unfortunately, there is a lot of ground to cover. The reason for her not being in the public eye is obvious: she's hitting the books.

We'll see about the timing, too. Until reality hit, Obama was a rock star, too. For a few weeks.

It's going to be a very interesting race. One uncluttered by substance if what is happening now is any guide.
