"i imagine fuld would rate his company a "sell," no? LOL"

He heh, I don't think so.. These brokerage CEOs like to wear their binder and drink their own Kool Aid.. Remember the BSC CEO comments right before the blow up? They look at the upside of their firm x 10 and then forget about ther real problem (or just minimize those worry). I think LEH is boxed in now. They went a couple round and no takers on anything other than their asset management side of their business. And what they are looking at is getting enough money from it to spin off the bad commercial loans... Someone I respected looks at the mix of their commercial loan and just screamed... So it is more of a matter of how much money they need to inject into spin off company on a continuous basis (if the spin company fails within 5 years, it will come back to LEH and go back to LEH balance sheet. so it is not a solution other than an accouting smoke and mirror).. I think the end game is closed, either they sell their firm or go under.. Dragging out of these auction thing does help their counter parties confident or their client's trust.. A big run of the firm will end it fast...
