if i'm entitled to $100/day for meals and i scrimp and only spend $30, the $70 goes into It's all a matter of the ground rules. When I was consulting, the rule was: actual expenses only. If you don't know the ground rules, it's easy to imply you were stealing when you were doing no such thing.
