They might have done better had they pick afternoon flights.....

middle of the day......

there would have been no escape ......

nowhere to run....nowhere to hide.

and

delayed flights would not have saved anybody.

My understanding was they picked those flights because they had flown on them before and found they had the least passengers to contend with and the flights were long enough to be fully loaded with fuel when they took off.
