As you say, that got us Bush--I don't recall ever hearing before the '00 election that a reason for voting for someone for president was that you could have a beer with them (never mind that Bush is supposed to be dry--that is an irrelevant detail). Any number of people have pointed out how absurd that is, but it doesn't seem to matter to some voters, judging anecdotally from articles like the one that BS posted.
