i am astounded by how much gold has gone in US reserves and now Lehman goes fiat probably worthless along with WaMu and FDIC, which put the US with nothing left but military, while keep pumping the dollar artificially as long as gold price is being suppressed like madness. IT happens too quickly in September 2008 as droke had put it. We might even see state of emergency in October before the election. I wouldn't touch US stocks with the possibility that intangible assets can be seized in the same way by the govt like in ex-soviet.

"the truly free and capitalist societies" losing the upper hand is not all good. Last time a leader of a civilization went belly up in 476, the world took a millenium to come out of the dark. We are not entering a new Dark Age, because there are some principles well established that even the people outside the west like and abide to, but we are entering the period of Gray Age.
