They HAVE to make it look good, like LEH has value. If they don't then MER will fall next. Paulson has to know this. The sale is going to look good on the surface because they don't have a choice. Taxpayers are going to get the shaft...again, but don't expect to hear those details in the announcement. This is a very dangerous time and Paulson knows it. I am sure he has called on the very best people he can access to help with this. If he screws this up things are going to get real ugly real fast.
