LI-Guy..thing is, I've been exposed(both personally and professionally) to people who are truly gifted in both the kind of knowledge they've been able to accumulate and their distillation of that knowledge..that's why I can't stress enough that her being "small town Alaska mayor cum Gov, cum VP candidate" was not the deal breaker....it was her extreme right wing ideology and abject cruelty re: aerial wolf hunting which showed me she doesn't look at the intricacies of living here, in peace, on this planet earth... I have a brother who was being raised during the 70s by immigrant parents[of no formal education] in a daily deteriorating 70s Bronx who sought reading Nietzsche, Plato, Socrates before he was 16.......he was made fun of by the "macho dudes" but the problem for them is that he excelled on the pick-up basketball court too as did his little sister<G> Point: I get it, have lived it, that people from improbable geographic areas, improbable means, have gifts of magnificent leadership but it's her view of life and how to live it here, peacefully, with people of wide ranging views, was counter to what we've witnessed works...............
