The last 'doctrine' that I remember being addressed as such was "The Eisenhower Doctrine." Nobody uses that term any more that I know of.

Apart from our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, our engagement in Pakistan and Rice's constant efforts to democratize the Middle East (Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Israel-Palestineetc.), I guess it's not so important.

We are so heavily engaged in the rest of the world by contrast.
