Oversold? Really? At more or less normal historical p/e's for both SP and NASDAQ?

DISAGREE VIOLENTLY!

Know this guy?

just-in-tray too

Why MER is a SELL
There are many points of view:

1st P.O.V.
a) If LEH does not get a good deal, expect same fate to MER.
b)If LEH does get a good deal, it will be MUCH mor harder for MER to get a good one. Keep in mind that every day becames harder to convinve other banks, even the gov to help them.
There will be no koreans, no HSBC, no Mitsubishi, no BAC nobody helping MER.

2nd P.O.V.
The shorts are all over the market. They went for BSC, then jumped for WM, then for FRE and FNM, Now thei are in focus
with LEH. When LEH is done they will jump into MER. Add to those shorts the "MAD" longs loosing there: Will come for MER too.

3rd P.O.V.
The mortgage problems are half way. no longs coming.

4rd P.O.V.
a $10 deal for BSC is equal to:
$5 deal at LEH and a $2 to MER
