Amen to that....it happens to be one of my several reasons for voting Democrat for now....not at the top of the list, but it's in there.

Yeah there are conditions that have to be fulfilled re Israel before the rapture.

Those end times preachers and novelists overlook some important scriptures, IMO.
Basically, the Jews aren't necessarily supposed to gather themselves. The Bible says that in the last days, God himself will gather the Jews. And in Revelations, there's a section about the "New Jerusalem" descending in glory from the Heavens above. From this one might assume that re-taking Jerusalem and/or restoring the Temple are not actually called for from God's POV. And if not called for, might actually be contrary to God's will which is not exactly a good thing for a Christian to do, lol.

Anyway, those end times views about Isreal leave me scratching my head.
