Here is the NYT article on the Palin interview that John spoke about.

What a lousy interview: no real follow-up questions, for one thing. I just gotta ask - sexist pig me - was he as dogged in his interview with Ms, Palin as he would have been with a male interviewee? A decent man does not want to bully a women - and it is a good thing in general. But could this account for him pulling his punches like this?

Sam;

Interesting Gibson interview.

But Ms. Palin seemed to move closer to her running mate’s position that global warming is caused by people, saying, “Man’s activities certainly can be contributing.”

I have come to the conclusion that Palin is a woman self centered doing what Palin thinks is good for Palin. You can change your views on a whim if that is what drives you.

Ms. Palin acknowledged that such membership could require the United States to join militarily in defense of Georgia if Russia was to move against it again.

Very troubling. Scary in fact. Shows a person so young she doesn't remember the cold war.

I am worried about Obama and how he might face the financial crises we are now slipping into. If McCain was to dump this person, I might consider voting for him just to get to divided government. With Palin on the ticket - NO WAY.

I just reread this NYTimes article, thanks to your posting, Sam. The sense of Rutenberg writing with a host of critics looking over his shoulder is even stronger on a second and third reading.

>>Mr. Gibson expressed exasperation with Ms. Palin toward the end of the first interview segment, shown on “World News” complaining that she had buried him in “a blizzard of words” as he sought a direct response to his question of whether the United States had the right to attack terrorists in remote areas of Pakistan without the Pakistani government’s approval. <<

Sam -

I'm waiting for the outraged cries about Gibson insulting Alaskans by talking about a "blizzard of words."
