the problem is that SS tax is still money out of people's pockets and is just as real as any other kind of tax.

agreed. government is pretty much corrupt to the core. given enough time, any humanly devised government will eventually turn on its own society and destroy it for perceived personal gain.

i do believe that the fairest way to apportion taxes is based upon wealth owned. if someone owns 20% of something, they ought to pay 20% of the bills. this is hard to implement in practice.

as it stands now, though, we are all thieves as we are monetizing the state of economic bondage that we are forcing onto our descendants.

we fight wars and give our descendants the tab.

we bail out our own uber rich, uber corrupt, uber incompetent and bill our descendants.

some would call me cynical, but i bet that our descendants do not.
