Why the 30 range top on AMAT Jacob? The price hasn't been that high for 8 years.

I also would pick KLIC over AMAT. I watch insider sales closely and the AMAT insiders have sold all the way down (21 to 18 most recently) whereas at KLIC they haven't sold since 9/10.

AMAT will give you more safety but less chance for gain than a higher beta stock like KLIC. That's why a correctly timed option play would likely work to leverage gains on AMAT.

That said I understand the frustration that is associated with not timing an investment opportunity correctly.

I'd like to invite this discussion over to the Wennerstrom thread since it's likely to range towards a wider range of stocks than just AMAT.

I have some ideas on how to base some expectations for when to buy and when to sell that are not simply based on price targets but I would enjoy the input from everyone else.
